Perform Service Specification

General information

Perform provides the customer with a more detailed overview of the vehicle deployment data. It also provides additional features, such as driver assessment, evaluation of speed classes or of fuel consumption.

Overview of services

Once the fleet vehicles have been set up in the RIO administration area on the RIO Platform and the Perform service has been procured for the vehicles via the Marketplace, customers can use the following service features of Perform in operational analysis for the following vehicle categories:

The following shall apply in the context of processing the information shown in the table:

  • Personal data concerning a driver’s driving style (driver name and driver card ID) is saved and processed for various assessment categories and partial assessments and an overall assessment are produced
  • The partial assessments are carried out for
    • Driving in coasting mode
    • Use of brake systems
    • Driving at an uneconomic speed
    • Use of the accelerator or kickdown
    • Use of cruise control
  • It is possible to make comparisons for different drivers with regard to driving style (partial assessment or overall assessment)
  • The data is displayed in the front end and can be exported or printed as Microsoft Excel or Adobe PDF files
  • Predefined reports can be generated at set times or manually. There is a download facility for current and historic reports.
  • The assessments can be made accessible to the driver for deployment on MAN vehicles using the “MAN Driver App”. To do so, the fleet manager has to invite the driver, who in turn has to sign up on the RIO Platform and install the corresponding mobile app on their mobile phone
  • For non-MAN vehicles (“FMS truck”), the “FMS interface” (Fleet Management System) must be available and activated in accordance with the “RIO Box (TBM 3) Retrofitting Instructions”; details on FMS can be found on the website www.fms-standard.com
  • The assessment (partial and overall) and the severity of use are in-house MAN solutions and are therefore not standardised. As such, assessments and severity of use are not comparable with the operational analyses of other manufacturers
  • The driver assessment and severity of use can only show a tendency and are partly subjective
  • The conditions for use and therefore also the severity of use are dependent on the data quality/availability of an external service provider, amongst other things, and can differ from region to region
  • Not all of the relevant framework conditions, such as the vehicle type, weather conditions or rolling and air resistance, are taken into consideration

To be able to use Perform, the workstation must be equipped as follows:

  • Desktop computer (not provided by MAN) with an up-to-date operating system and a modern web browser in the latest version.

Miscellaneous

  • The Perform service saves and stores the vehicle’s data as from the last time the service was activated. If the service is deactivated and then reactivated in the meantime, the data is only available starting from the time of the new activation
  • The driver assessment requires clear allocation of the vehicle to the driver; in addition, the following requirements must be fulfilled:
    • The driver to be assessed must be logged in using a driver card from the assessment start time (card inserted)
    • At the end of the assessment period, the driver to be assessed must log out the driver card correctly (card pulled out)
    • During log-in and log-out, it must be ensured that the vehicle ignition is on and that the RIO Box is therefore ready for operation; furthermore, there must be a mobile connection between the RIO Box and the portal. This status is indicated by a permanently illuminated green LED
  • For FMS vehicles: depending on the vehicle manufacturer, model type, equipment and vehicle configuration, the signals from the FMS interface that are required for analysis may not be transmitted or not transmitted completely; in this case, there may be restrictions in determining the partial and overall assessments; please contact your point of contact at aftersales@rio.cloud before booking

[1] The data is available for monthly evaluations

[2] For FMS vehicles: Depending on the vehicle manufacturer, model type, equipment and vehicle configuration, the signals from the FMS interface that are required for analysis may not be transmitted or not transmitted completely; in this case, there may be restrictions in determining the partial and overall assessments
