Geo Data Flow service specification

General information

Geo Data Flow is a chargeable service that collects vehicle data and forwards it to third-party systems via interfaces.

Overview of services

Once the fleet vehicles have been set up in the RIO administration area on the RIO platform and the Geo Data Flow service has been procured for the vehicles via the Marketplace, the following Geo Data Flow services can be used for the various vehicle categories:

Non-MAN vehicle (RIO box in FMS mode)

Current vehicle position transmitted once every 20 seconds with the following data

  • Location
  • Mileage
  • Speed
  • Tank fill level

Service overview for vehicles with third-party hardware

Users can also connect third-party hardware to the RIO platform and then forward it via the RIO interface. For this purpose, the Mixed Fleet Bridge service must be booked for these vehicles. For more information, please refer to the T&Cs and service specification of the Mixed Fleet Bridge.

Technical requirements

To be able to use Geo Data Flow via the RIO box, vehicles must be equipped as follows:

MAN Truck

MAN Bus

MAN Transporter

Non-MAN vehicle (RIO box in FMS mode)

Use of a RIO box (provision not covered by the Service T&Cs)

The corresponding RIO interface must be integrated in the third-party system.

This integration is carried out by the user or its partner. TBDS does not carry out the integration of the RIO interface in the third party system.

For configuration of data transmission, the vehicle must be reachable via a radio connection and have been successfully configured. The radio link can only be established when the ignition is switched on.

To use Geo Data Flow by means of third-party hardware, the following conditions must be met:

Vehicles with third-party hardware

The user has booked the respective service of the third party provider and accepted its T&Cs.

The user has booked the Mixed Fleet Bridge.

The corresponding RIO interface must be integrated in the third-party system.

This integration is carried out by the user or its partner. TBDS does not carry out the integration of the RIO interface in the third party system.

To book Geo Data Flow, the work place must be equipped as follows:

  • Desktop computer (is not provided by RIO) with an up-to-date operating system and a modern web browser in the latest version.
