MAN SimplePay service specification
- General information
MAN SimplePay is a multi-brand platform in which you can store your UTA fuel/service cards digitally and assign them to a vehicle. The user-friendly overview on the RIO platform summarises all operating costs, including refuelling, parking, truck washing or repair and maintenance. UTA is our first fuel/service card provider for transaction processing and offers the advantage of speeding up breakdown processing through automatic cost approval. Thanks to the digital platform, users of the MAN SimplePay web portal have full cost transparency over the operating costs of their fleet. - Overview of “Services”
Once the vehicles (MAN trucks/trucks of other brands) in the fleet have been created in the RIO administration area and the MAN SimplePay service has been booked for these vehicles via the Marketplace, the user can use MAN SimplePay. To book partner services (“Services”) via MAN SimplePay, a UTA fuel card/service card must be stored for each vehicle in the first step and the desired services must be activated. Initially, the services available are “Refueling”, “Parking”, “Washing” and “Repair & Maintenance”.- “Fuelling” service
If an UTA fuel and service card is stored for a vehicle and the “Fuelling” function is activated in MAN SimplePay, vehicles from all manufacturers can use MAN SimplePay Fuelling via the MAN Driver App and process contactless refuelling transactions. MAN Trucks also have the option of using MAN SimplePay Fuelling directly via the multimedia device in the vehicle to carry out contactless transactions.
If MAN SimplePay Fuelling is not used, the corresponding transaction will nevertheless be entered automatically in the MAN SimplePay Portal under “Transactions”, provided that the driver completes processing as usual using the stored UTA fuel and service card at the fuel station checkout. The transaction data is imported into MAN SimplePay once a day. In addition, refuelling transactions are presented in graph format in the dashboard to ensure a transparent overview of operating costs.- MAN SimplePay Fuelling in the MAN Driver App for vehicles from all vehicle brands
Vehicles for which the Fuelling” function has been activated in MAN SimplePay and an UTA fuel/service card has been stored can use Mobile Fuelling via the MAN Driver App under “MAN SimplePay Fuelling”. The app has a user-friendly display of all fuel stations that support mobile fuelling. At these fuel stations, drivers can conveniently start the refuelling process via the MAN Driver app by entering the current mileage and the pump number. The refuelling process continues as usual after confirming this information.
As soon as the refuelling is completed, the successful transaction is displayed in the MAN Driver App. Mobile Fuelling therefore enables contactless and efficient processing of refuelling transactions at compatible fuel stations. A stable Internet connection really is a must in order to process these transactions. All completed transactions are then clearly displayed in the “Transaction history” of the MAN Driver App and in MAN SimplePay on the RIO platform. - MAN SimplePay Fuelling via the multimedia device in MAN Trucks
MAN SimplePay Fuelling is only available in the multimedia device app (MMT app) for MAN vehicles of model year 2020 or newer with VCM control unit with the following features:
- Infotainment system with either 12-inch screen (MMT Advanced Plus) or 7-inch screen (MMT Advanced)
- VCM with firmware version 11.2.2
MAN SimplePay Fuelling-enabled MAN vehicles for which the “Fuelling” function has been enabled in MAN SimplePay and an UTA fuel/service card has been stored can use Mobile Fuelling via the multimedia device in the truck under “MAN SimplePay Fuelling” at compatible fuel stations.
To use it, the driver selects the “MAN SimplePay” app in the “Applications” menu and starts the refuelling process. The vehicle’s mileage and location information are transmitted in real time. Once the driver has selected the appropriate fuel station from a list of nearest fuel stations, the driver must enter the desired fuel pump. The refuelling process can be carried out as usual after confirming this information.
Once the refuelling process is complete, the successful transaction is displayed in the transaction history in the multimedia system. Mobile Fuelling therefore enables contactless and efficient processing of refuelling transactions at corresponding fuel stations.
The vehicle’s ignition needs to be switched on for the vehicle data to be successfully transmitted. This condition should be maintained for a few minutes to enable the control units to initialise and to ensure the signal. In addition, a stable mobile phone connection between the MAN telematics transmitter unit and the platform is required.

- “Parking” service
If an UTA fuel and service card is stored for a vehicle and the “Parking” function is enabled in MAN SimplePay, the fleet manager can book parking spaces for drivers for contactless processing. In addition, activating the “Parking” service enables the use of the “Managing parking” function.
If no prior booking is made, the corresponding transaction will still be automatically recorded in the MAN SimplePay Portal under “Transactions”, provided that the parking fee is paid on site using the stored UTA fuel and service card.Booking and contactless payment of parking spaces by fleet managers
If an UTA fuel/service card is stored for a vehicle and the “Parking” function is enabled in MAN SimplePay, the fleet manager can book parking spaces for this vehicle in advance via the fleet monitor on the RIO platform. To do this, the fleet manager selects the required parking space in the fleet monitor and enters the following mandatory booking information: Vehicle, arrival and departure time, driver’s full name. If the booking is successful, it can be viewed and cancelled, if required, within MAN SimplePay in the “Bookings” area. This applies to all parking spaces in Travis’ partner network that accept UTA fuel/service cards as a means of payment. Payment is processed automatically via partner Travis and the stored UTA fuel/service card. Once completed, the transaction is available in the MAN SimplePay portal.
Booking and contactless payment of parking spaces by drivers
If an UTA fuel/service card is stored for a vehicle and the “Parking” function is enabled in MAN SimplePay, the driver can book parking spaces for this vehicle independently via the MAN Driver App. To do this, the driver selects the “MAN SimplePay Parking” function in the MAN Driver App and searches for the required parking space on the map. To book, the driver must provide the following mandatory information: Arrival and departure time, driver’s full name. If the booking is successful, it can be viewed within the MAN Driver App. Bookings created by a driver are automatically displayed in MAN SimplePay in the “Bookings” area and can be viewed and cancelled (if required) there by the fleet manager. This only applies to drivers authorised for the vehicle for which MAN SimplePay has been booked and the “Parking” function has been enabled within the RIO platform. This applies to all parking spaces in Travis’ partner network that accept UTA fuel/service cards as a means of payment. Payment is processed automatically via partner Travis and the stored UTA fuel/service card. Once completed, the transaction is available to the fleet manager in the MAN SimplePay portal.
Cancelling parking spaces
Parking spaces booked via MAN SimplePay can be cancelled by the fleet manager in the “Bookings” section. The following provisions apply to cancelling parking spaces:
Short-stay parking: Parking space bookings lasting up to seven days can be cancelled free of charge up to two hours before the specified arrival time.
Long-term parking: Parking spaces booked by the user via TRAVIS Road Services for a period longer than 168 hours (7 days) cannot be cancelled free of charge. A cancellation fee of 25% of the total booking value will be charged up to 72 hours prior to the specified arrival time. A cancellation fee of 50% of the total booking value will be charged for parking spaces cancelled between 24 and 72 hours prior to the specified arrival time. After this time, the booked parking space will be charged in full.
- “Washing” service
If a UTA fuel/service card is stored for a vehicle and the “Washing” function is activated in MAN SimplePay, the user is automatically shown the transaction in the MAN SimplePay portal under “Transactions” when the driver processes the transaction for a truck wash at the checkout with the stored UTA fuel/service card. This applies to all washing stations in the network of our partner Travis. - “Repair & Maintenance” service
If a UTA fuel/service card is stored for a vehicle and the “Repair & Maintenance” function is activated in MAN SimplePay, the user is automatically shown transactions from repair and maintenance cases in the MAN SimplePay portal under “Transactions” as soon as the driver processes the transaction in the workshop on site with the stored UTA fuel/service card. This applies to all workshops that are UTA acceptance points. In addition, the user receives an automatic cost approval in the event of a breakdown by activating the “Repair & Maintenance” function.- Automatic cost approval in the event of a breakdown
If a UTA fuel/service card is stored for a vehicle and the “Repair & Maintenance” function is activated, the user receives a pre-authorisation of up to €1,500 in the event of a breakdown, provided that the amount is available on the card. As soon as MAN Mobile24 is contacted in the event of a breakdown, the administrator can retrieve the relevant data directly in MAN SimplePay. Based on the pre-authorised amount, M24 can arrange direct assistance and minimise the truck's downtime. Manual approval by the fleet manager is then no longer necessary.
If necessary, this amount can be increased to up to €5,000 after feedback from the workshop on the expected costs, provided the amount is available on the card. If the amount required for the repair exceeds the €5,000 limit, or if the currently available amount on the UTA fuel/service card is insufficient, it will be checked on the basis of UTA's internal guidelines whether the limit can be increased. In this case, manual approval by the fleet manager may be required. The workshop invoice is issued to UTA by default. Billing between UTA and the end customer is based on the standard UTA process. The transaction is automatically displayed to the user of the MAN SimplePay web portal in the MAN SimplePay portal under “Transactions”.

Desktop computer (not provided by RIO) with an up-to-date operating system and a modern web browser in the latest version. - Other
Only UTA transactions are displayed in MAN SimplePay. The prerequisite for using MAN SimplePay is therefore the linking of a valid UTA fuel card to the respective vehicle.
It is not possible to link a fuel card to several vehicles at the same time. Furthermore, it is not possible to change the vehicle linked to a fuel card within a billing cycle.
